The Monthly Financial Update gives our readers an inside look at the allocation and performance of our personal portfolio. At the beginning of each month, we share a snapshot of our investments and highlight their performance over the previous month. In addition, we compute our progress towards achieving our retirement number.
Re-Doubled Investing Effort
This month we capped off the amount we plan to use as a downpayment on our future rental property (you may have noticed our high-yield savings steadily increasing this year, now you know why!). We've been searching for the perfect deal for several months but, so far, we haven't found exactly what we're looking for. However, now that the downpayment savings fund is complete, we have re-doubled our investing efforts! The large gains we made this month show that those efforts are already paying off.
Results:
4.51% month-over-month growth
66.5% of retirement number saved
