The Monthly Financial Update gives our readers an inside look at the allocation and performance of our personal portfolio. At the beginning of each month, we share a snapshot of our investments and highlight their performance over the previous month. In addition, we compute our progress towards achieving our retirement number.
What An Amazing Year!
The year has come to an end, and boy was it a good one! In 2019, we didn't just meet our financial goals, we smashed them! We started the year hoping to reach 60% of our retirement number but ended up at almost 70%! In addition, we were expecting/hoping our overall net worth would grow by at least 30% this year. The final result? We achieved over 50% year-over-year growth!! If our performance in 2020 is anywhere near what it was in 2019, we'll reach early retirement in no time!
We've decided on two big financial goals for 2020:
1. Reach 90% of our retirement number
2. Average $1,250 in monthly passive income
We realize that these are ambitious goals, but we are confident that, with hard work and discipline we will be able to reach them.
Results:
3.26% month-over-month growth
68.6% of retirement number saved
2019 Total Net Worth Growth (Jan. 2019 - Jan. 2020) = 50.11%
Check out our detailed performance in the table below.
