The Monthly Financial Update gives our readers an inside look at the allocation and performance of our personal portfolio. At the beginning of each month, we share a snapshot of our investments and highlight their performance over the previous month. In addition, we compute our progress towards achieving our retirement number.
The Seesaw Continues
Up one day, down another. The volatility of the market this year has been constant and May was no different. Our portfolio spent most of the month in the negative, only to rebound towards breaking even at the end. We were left with a tiny, but positive, gain for the month. If the market continues to seesaw how it has in the first quarter of 2022, we may be looking at a big sale on stocks very soon. Take advantage while you can!
